Specimens

Specimens are my most recent rammed earth sculptures. They are part of a continuing exploration into perceptions of nature and architecture, ideas of organic and inorganic and notions of time and permanence.

I hand packed layers of earth into geometric forms resembling geologic core samples.

Laid out on the ground as one would building materials in a warehouse, the forms are specimen-like, interesting and ambiguous objects.
